This large tunnelling project is located near the Blue Mountains Region of NSW. When completed, the $2.5Billion project will be Australia’s longest road tunnel at 11kms long and will form the main road corridor between Central Western NSW and the Sydney Region.
The project is currently undergoing geotechnical investigations by high profile engineering firms who have engaged EWS to supply and install vibrating wire piezometers and our unique satellite telemetry devices to monitor pore pressure and gather critical baseline data before the construction works begin.
EWS’ vibrating wire piezometers and our innovative range of VWT remote telemetry dataloggers are being installed to monitor pore pressure across the project, data reliably transmitted from very remote sites to Orion is being utilised by the lead geotechnical engineers as part of their investigation which will assist in making informed design decisions.
The EWS VWT range provides the ideal solution for the remote locations and rugged environments where installations are taking place. Our Iridium satellite devices are being rolled out to ensure reliable data transmission even in areas of no cellular coverage. The individual transmission form each device also eliminates the need for tedious radio line of sight requirements and single point failure risk.
Our selection of robust housings provides the best protection possible for the rugged environment and eliminates the need for maintenance visits.
The project geotechnical engineers will view pore pressure remotely through Orion from the comfort of their offices without having to access remote areas of the site again.
EWS Australia specialise in the manufacture of vibrating wire satellite telemetry and geotechnical monitoring for remote environmental monitoring applications and design bespoke solutions to suit your needs.
